Affiliate Link InstructionsOnce you have signed up at 1ShoppingCart for an affiliate account (it's free, just go to the Developing Athletics Sign-up Page) you will then be ready to start promoting and marketing our products. Marketing for Developing Athletics and our products is quick and simple. All you have to do is put your own personalized links on your webpages or in your newsletters to send traffic to the DevelopingAthletics.com website. We refer to these links as your “affiliate links" and they are important because this is how 1ShoppingCart keeps track of the traffic you send to DevelopingAthletics.com and gives you credit for the sales you generate. So the very first step after you have signed up for your 1ShoppingCart account is to understand how to get your affiliate link. Keep in mind, this link is the only way you will be paid for affiliate sales. Any other link that leads your subscribers and/or customers to our sales page will not trace your sales and will not credit your account with a commission. (YOU are responsible to make sure your affiliate links are coded correctly!!!!) Lucky for you, we make retrieving your affiliate link simple, so that you can start earning a commission today! After signing up, we will send you a "welcome email" that has your own special affiliate link right inside it. So, from the very start, you have the single best tool to start making sales today. Also inside the welcome email is your 1ShoppingCart username and password for login to our Developing Athletics system. Upon login, you can click the Links and Tools tab at the top to retrieve your affiliate link. Click here to log in and start using your affiliate link today! That's all there is to it. When someone clicks through YOUR affiliate link, they are redirected to www.developingathletics.com and a "cookie" (a small internet tracking file) is dropped onto the computer of the visitor. This "marks" that visitor as coming from your referral. I have one last suggestion. If you are using your affiliate links on a web page, it is best you use a "DISPLAY URL" like www.developingathletics.com rather than exposing the actual 1ShoppingCart link. Tests have shown that when people realize they are "being sold something" on a commission basis (as opposed to simply getting a "recommendation" from an independent 3rd party), the conversion rates may drop, therefore it's best to "hide" your affiliate link in your HTML code and use www.developingathletics.com as the display link. Some advanced internet marketers even use "link cloaking" for this reason (and other reasons), but that will have to be the subject of another article. If you have any questions about retrieving your affiliate links, please contact me at any time! Sincerely, John Sifferman |
